"For people to remain involved with the
sport, they must have facilities they can count on. Not just now, but twenty
years from now. Everything we do must be a reflection of that long term
commitment to our customers and the sport." Dick

Court Maintenance
A platform tennis court is 60 feet long by 30 feet wide. The inbounds lined area is 44 feet by 20 feet. Normally, the platform is raised off the ground, but REILLY recently introduced a Lawn Level Court that is level with the ground for some customized installations. The court is enclosed by 12-foot high screens.

The platform itself is comprised of 6 inch by 30 inch aluminum channel boards that are welded to joists. This construction provides a tight, rigid surface and gives strength and flexibility to the court. The screens of a platform tennis court are made of one inch hexagonal, sixteen gauge galvanized steel wire. Screens are kept tight by a unique shock-absorbing tension system, developed by REILLY, which provides consistent tension. Players take shots off these screens, so the consistent tension is an important factor. REILLY developed an innovative spring-loaded, shock-absorbing screen system to maximize screen play. |
The platform tennis court superstructure (sides and end walls) rises 12 feet above the platform. Lights for night play are 20 feet above the platform.
Snowboards (hinged mahogany panels six feet in length) facilitate snow and leaf removal to allow year-round play. REILLY created the "swinging snowboard" for rapid shoveling of snow. A special heating system facilitates rapid melting of ice and snow. Combined with an innovative traction surface (yes, invented by REILLY), the courts are open for play all year 'round!
...Through our own experience in Rochester,
and from what we have witnessed at other clubs throughout the country where
we play in tournaments, R.J. Reilly is always the best investment. You stand
behind your work, you service courts in a professional and timely manner,
and the quality of your court and workmanship (with its minimal associated
maintenance) is unsurpassed...![]()

STATE-OF-THE-ART LIGHTING
SYSTEM (the newest court innovation) ...
Eight "shoebox" style metal halide fixtures per court have
replaced the traditional six quartz iodine fixtures in REILLY's newest court
innovation. Metal halide provides more energy-efficient lighting and therefore
lower long-term cost. REILLY's metal halide fixtures are of the highest
quality with greater projected life expectancy than other types. The new
fixtures provide the best possible lighting, with virtually no shadows and
minimal spillovers (good news to adjacent neighbors).
This latest court innvoation debuted at the 1999 Nationals. read more about it on the Nationals Page, or contact us by email or phone 1-800-950-5049 for information.
ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION ... An all-aluminum court
provides a high-quality structure with almost endless life expectancy. Courts
can be dismantled and re-installed in different locations, when so required.
WITH SUPERIOR ENGINEERING ... Like a finely built
road car, much of the beauty of REILLY engineering is beneath the surface.
As a result, the deck surface always provides a consistent ball bounce,
while enabling water to drain instantly.
REILLY screen tension system prolongs screen life by employing shock
absorber type springs to cushion impact. REILLY posi-lock snowboards are
safe, attractive, durable, and easy to use. Every element of construction
-- girders, joists, deck channels, superstructure -- has benefited from
years of refinement and improvement.
BUILT BY SKILLED CRAFTSMEN ... Quality control
from start to finish.
REILLY's own craftsmen in REILLY's own factory manufacture REILLY aluminum courts. This provides built-in plant quality control prior to shipment. Skilled crews then travel to the court's site and install the court. It takes a REILLY building crew approximately one week to complete installation. Then you can -- literally -- hit the court!
And there's that renowned REILLY SERVICE ...
Every spring, with no charge, no obligation, REILLY inspects courts it has built and offers detailed maintenance recommendations, if any are necessary. During the season, REILLY is staffed to respond to most problems within 24 hours. Learn more about Court Maintenance

The REILLY name carries with it a dedication to excellence and a focus on impeccable service in every aspect of business. No REILLY family member would accept any less. And neither should you.
...The strong bond of mutual respect and
admiration that exists between our club and RJR is far more than an excellent
business relationship. Your willingness to go beyond the call of duty for
the good of our great sport, and to go out of your way to accommodate Fox
Meadow's needs, is clearly recognized and sincerely appreciated.![]()
